I actually caught them at that RTB in the parking lot of Angel Stadium for the first reunion show a few years back. Tragically, that show went from hype and really wide open and dope, to somber when they announced in between acts, that ODB had passed away that day.

The debut album from MC Ricky D had a mix of poppy songs that were actually pretty sick for those days, and a whole lot of really good Hip Hop music. I love this album and still rock it on occasion, especially when the shit that represents Hip Hop today is gettin me down.

So yo over the weekend, a few people from the Hip Hop familia tied the knot. Along with Jazzy Jeff, there was Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys getting married, as well as T.I and Tiny exchanging rings. Cube's long solo discography has proven to be very impressive, and let us not forget a little group outta Compton that he was a starter for.

Yo what up world? I come to you today on a very somber note. The hip hop world has lost one of the pioneers of this game. We have lost one of the greatest MC's to ever rock a mic. It has been reported that Guru, known by the government name Keith Elam, has passed away at the age of 43. A while back Guru had a heart attack, but was said to have been recovering from that. Apparently his death was related to a long battle with cancer. Guru you will be missed. Longtime friend and colaborator Solar released a published statement with the following: "The world has lost one of the best MCs and hip-hop icons of all-time -- my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru," he said. "Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle! This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius."
