Album Review--- Big Boi

The album has joints on it that will make you feel like you are on your fifth Henny and Coke, and you chillin in the club posted up, with your head bobbin. "Daddy Fat Sax" and "Shutterbugg" are two examples of this. I dare you to listen to these songs and not feel like your heads gotta bounce. By the way, Scott Storch is the mind behind the production on "Shutterbugg". Welcome back Scott Storch. Its been a minute. Other production on this album was provided by Salaam Remi (Nas, Fugees), Organize Noise, Big Boi's own Boom Boom Room producers and Boi-1da. The beats on this shit are nice all the way through,
There is no shortage of non-club joints on here too. Don't get it twisted, Big Boi ain't conforming like alot of these rap fools, trying to get that club/radio shit that most true Hip Hop heads piss on. Daddy Fat Sacks is staying true to real hip hop. There is a shit load of guest appearances on the album with a roster that includes... T.I. & Khujo Goodie, Sleepy Brown & Joi, Jamie Foxx, and George Clinton, Too Short & Sam Chris. There is also a song with an appearance from B.O.B, who I think sounds exactly like that brotha Andre 3000. "General Patton" has a mutha fucka wanting to hit corners in a candy painted Lac straight blowin Kush smoke out the window.
Basically, I am trying to tell you to get yo ass up and get this mutha fucka. With all the bullshit that is representing Hip Hop out today, it's a blessing to have brothas like Sir Lucious spittin all over the fuckin mic booth. Big Boi has always been known to be a master of the word game. From them early days on Southernplayalisticcadillacmusic to this new solo release, musical genius. Spend them ducketts on the lyrical crack cocaine that Big Boi packaged up for consumption on this one. FIRE.

They will definitely be one of the main highlights for the majority of the crowd in San Bernadino in 11 days. WU TANG. WU TANG.. WU TANG. Heres a classic from the WU.

Smokeout 2010 Line-up Announced

"The CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT is a world-renowned platform that harnesses the power of music to celebrate self-expression, individuality and the freedom to choose one’s own way of life. The festival will showcase over 20 acts on 3 stages. “The Smoke Out is one of Guerilla Union’s most successful live music artist partnerships and this year’s show may be our most important and historic ever. It represents our company’s independent spirit and passion for creating unique live experiences. It’s truly an honor to work with Cypress Hill and all of this year’s world-class artists. SmokeOut is not only a well respected music festival, but also a platform for compassion, activism, and education for the entire medical marijuana community. With the help of Americans For Safe Access, Cypress Hill’s SmokeOut will continue to support the legalization of Medical Marijuana and patient’s rights. We need to encourage our community to vote this November. The timing of this year’s show in October (Californians will be voting on tax and regulation this November) along with the incredible coalition of cannabis friendly artists, activists, and industry leaders joining this year’s bill will help raise awareness and support for important medical marijuana issues locally and nationally. With all that said, SmokeOut has always been about great music and positive vibes. There’s going to be another line-up announcement soon. I promise our fans will not be disappointed.” Chang Weisberg, Founder of Guerilla Union.
Following their landmark performance of Black Sunday in its entirety at last year’s event, Cypress Hill will make history again. The group will perform their ground-breaking, debut self-titled album, Cypress Hill for the first time in their career. The two-time platinum album was released in 1991, which included chart-topping singles, “Stoned Is The Way Of The Walk”, “How I Could Just Kill A Man”, “Latin Lingo” and “Hand On The Pump”. Described by Rolling Stone (10/3/91) as “innovative and engaging”, Cypress Hill catapulted the group into major critical and commercial success and has since made influential albums lists by leading publications including, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine and The Source. "Performing our self-titled album in its entirety is going to be a celebration and opportunity to treat our fans that have been supporting our music for nearly twenty years. We have a few more surprises to unveil as we prepare for SmokeOut and the upcoming vote in November. The SmokeOut exists to protect medical marijuana patient's rights and we encourage our fans to go to AmericansForSafeAccess.org to learn how they can make a difference. There are a lot of artists on this year's show that we love and respect. I can't wait to see all our fans, friends, and family back at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino." B Real of Cypress Hill.
The full line-up for the CYPRESS HILL SMOKEOUT to date includes: INCUBUS, MANU CHAO, DEADMAU5 “unhooked”, MGMT, CYPRESS HILL, SLIGHTLY STOOPID, NAS & DAMIAN ‘JR GONG’ MARLEY, ATMOSPHERE, LIVING COLOUR, LIVING LEGENDS (Aesop, Bicasso, Eligh, The Grouch, Luckyiam, Murs, Scarub, Sunspot Jonz), IRATION and AGAINST THE GIRL. Another major line-up announcement will be made this week, before on-sale. "

Rock The Bells Countdown
Yo, it's almost here. You can already smell the chronic in the air. Rock The Bells 2010 will be in San Bernadino in only 17 more days. Todays Countdown video comes from one of the greatest ever to grab the mic. This album, Paid In Full, dropped during my freshman year in High School in '87 and it is still one of the nicest albums of all time. This was the debut record for Eric B and the God MC, Rakim Allah.
I look forward to seeing Rakim spit again on August 21. He is truly one of the greatest to bless our ears. Here is a joint from the album.

I'm Back.... Jazzy Jeff Gets Married

So here is a video in honor of the new union of one of, in my opinion, the greatest producers ever and his shorty. Its just one of many dope beats that Jeff has blessed us with, spit over by one of the Dopest MCs of our times... C L Smooth.
